Heading east toward the gulf on South Padre Island Drive and across the south end of Corpus Christi, takes you across the causeway out to both Mustang Island and North Padre Island. After going across the causeway and onto the island, turn left (north) at the first traffic light, and head for Port Aransas on Hwy 361. The Mustang Royale subdivision is approximately 15 minutes (14 miles) from this traffic light. Watch for a cluster of tropical colored homes and the Mustang Royale subdivision entrance on the right hand (east) side of the road. Turn right on Mustang Royale Blvd. and proceed at 15 mph down to the end of the street (about two block), turn right at the "T" in the road and toward the cul-de-sac. Casa Thomae is the large, yellow, three-story house, with a street address of 296.
Catch Hwy 361 through the city of Aransas Pass, to the ferry crossing for Port Aransas/Mustang Island. This is just a short, channel crossing that only lasts about 10 minutes, but normally includes Pelican and dolphin sightings! There are typically 3-4 ferrys running, but the lines can get long at the peak of holiday weekend traffic times. After exiting the ferry in Port Aransas, turn right at the first light, following the signs for Hwy 361. This first turn will actually curve around to a second traffic light in less than a mile, where once again, you will turn right, following the signs for heading south on Hwy 361. Approximately 5 miles south on Hwy 361, and just passed signs for the Pioneer RV Park, watch for a cluster of tropical colored homes on the left (east) side of the road. Mustang Royale is the second entrance (just passed an entrance for the Royal Sands subdivision). Turn left onto Mustang Royale Bl, proceed slowly (subdivision speed limit is 15 mph), to a "T" at the end of the street (about 2 blocks). Turn right at the "T" and into 296 Mustang Royale — the large, 3 story yellow house just before the cul-de-sac. The guest garage is the one on the right.
Entry: An entry door code will be provided with your final payment confirmation letter. Check in time is 3:00 p.m. and check out is 10:00 am. All early check in or late check outs must have owners approval. Should you need assistance call us at 480-657-9046.
Transportation: If you are flying and do not plan to rent a car, airport shuttles are available. Here are a couple of companies that shuttle from the Corpus Christi airport to the island and Port Aransas.

Visitors Guide: You will find a Mustang Island/Port Aransas visitors guide in one of the breakfast bar drawers. Inside there is a variety of information about history, attractions and recreation, events, nature, winter Texans and more. There are also many restaurant brochures and recommendations of our own.
Telephone: If you are making a long distance call you will need to use a calling card or your (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover).
Laundry: The house is equipped with a washer and dryer. We ask that you wash and dry bath and beach towels prior to your departure.
Food: Upon your arrival, there will likely be a few food staples in the cabinets and fridge. Please help yourself to anything you wish, and upon your departure leave what you wish. The Port Aransas IGA, the island supermarket and is open until 10 pm. You may want to stop at the larger supermarket HEB in Corpus Christi or Aransas Pass before coming onto the island.
Charcoal Grill: A Charcoal Grill is on the back patio, however you will need to purchase you own charcoal and lighter fluid.
Mosquitoes: Since the house is located by the sea, you will find fewer mosquitoes here than anywhere else, and most of the time no mosquitoes at all. Typically, mosquitoes will come a couple of weeks after a heavy rainfall and their feeding time is mostly sunrise and just after sunset.
Hot Tub: Hot tub light, temperature and jet controls are located on the edge of the tub. We appreciate your care in turning off tub light when not in use.
Home entertainment: There is a TV with DVD/VHS player and cable in the family room, and another TV in guest bedroom 2. Video rentals are available on the island.
Additional bedding: Two additional cots are located in the kids bedroom closet. Extra linens, pool towels and laundry supplies are located in the linen closet on the second floor.
Guest Book: We would be grateful if you would sign our guest book and share your comments. The guest book is located on the small table at the top of the stairs.
